What causes ice dams?

An Ice Dam are those icicles at the edge of roofs. They are all a result from snow melting from warmer areas onto colder areas on your roof, especially the eaves and valleys. When ice forms at the edge they form a dam that collects oncoming melting snow, creating a pool of water that eventually may leak its way into the interior of your residential or commercial property. This recurring cycle if not addressed, can be a havoc to your roof.

DON’T LET ICE DAMS RUIN YOUR HOME!  WE USE LOW PRESSURE STEAM ONLY!!

Water damage from ice dams can range from:

  1. Damage shingles by leaking and refreezing. This expands and splits the shingles.
  2. Wet insulation, making it about 50% ineffective and allowing heat into your attic. Making it a never ending cycle of ice dams
  3. Rot and stain wood, furniture and anything interior of your home.
  4. Leave your house vulnerable to mold and mildew

Ice dam removal solution?

We exclusively only use low-pressure steam when removing your ice dam. Our removing process is safe to your roof and surrounding areas. Our method is safe, fast, and efficient. We will shovel your roof partially or completely to properly remove your ice dam.

Preventing ice dams in the Rhode Island and Massachusetts area can be challenging dangerous, and risky for yourself and home. if you already have a problem, make sure you hire a contractor that knows what they are doing. Many ice dam removal companies in the Rhode Island and the surrounding areas will use High Pressure Washer machines that can cause additional damage to your home. Other companies may say they use steam, but actually are using high pressure washers that damage granules and lessen the life span of your roof! Kelly’s Roofing Corp uses a LOW PRESSURE steamer that will not cause damage to your roof or gutters and helps stop the problem from growing worse. Contact Kelly’s Roofing Corp. today to learn more about how we can help you remove your ice dams.
